Bill Pensyl

Bill Pensyl graduated from ESHS in 1955, earning 3 varsity letters in basketball and 3 varsity letters in baseball. He was a starter on Coach Jack Kist's 1955 District Baseball Championship team, the only one in ESHS baseball history. While at ESHS, Bill scored 848 career points in varsity basketball and he went on receive "Little All-American" recognition in basketball at Elizabethtown College. Upon graduation from Elizabethtown, Bill became a teacher, Head Basketball Coach, Head Baseball Coach and ultimately, the Director of Athletics at Bangor High School. He coached basketball at Bangor for 38 years, winning more than 450 games and the 1988 District XI AAA Championship, and coached baseball for 23 years, with his Slater baseball squad advancing to the 1983 P.I.A.A. Baseball State Championship game. Coach Pensyl has already been inducted into the Halls of Fame of Bangor High School, Elizabethtown College, the Blue Mountain Baseball League, Lehigh Valley Basketball and the National High School Sports Federation (NFHS).
